Of Love and War: A Chayavad Anthology
This is an anthology of the works of four leading Hindi poets, in translation, of the genre and period (roughly between the two world wars) known as Chayavad. This volume comes with a critical introduction by David Rubin who contextualizes this literary movement within the larger socio-political movement of the time.



Bihari (poet) - Bihari (1595-1664) was a hindi poet, who is famous for writing Satasai (Seven Hundred Verses). Bihari wrote poetry in shringar ras depicting the divine love of Krishna and Radha.

Indian epic poetry - Indian epic poetry is the epic poetry written on the Indian sub-continent. Written in Sanskrit, Tamil and Hindi, it includes some of the oldest epic poetry ever created and some works form the basis of Hindu scripture.
